Antonio Campillo

LA MADRILEÑA - FLUTE

Campillo, flautista.

Born in Madrid, Flautist Antonio Campillo studied with Wilbert Hazelzet in Utrecht (The Netherlands) and with Marc Hantai in Barcelona (Spain).

He holds a masters degree in Historical Performance from the Juilliard School where he studied with Sandra Miller. He collaborates with various orchestras and ensembles: The Four Nations (US), The Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra (US), La Madrileña (SP), Los Músicos de su Alteza (SP), La Capilla Real de Madrid (SP), La Tempestad (SP) or Hippocampus (SP). He has had the opportunity to work under the direction of William Christie, Jordi Savall, Masaaki Suzuki, Ton Koopman, Paul McCreesh, Richard Egarr or Gottfried von der Goltz. Antonio has been invited to give a masterclass on Historical Performance at the Conservatory of Salamanca and Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

He has recorded Georg Friedrich Handel, “Tamerlano”. with Paul McCreesh. (Opus Arte). Giuseppe Bono, “L’Isola disabitata” with Pablo Heras-Casado and Compañía Teatro del Príncipe. (Música Antigua Aranjuez Ediciones). Georg Philipp Telemann, 12 fantasies for solo flute (Piccolo 2014).
