Carlos CerradaLA MADRILEÑA - CLARINET
Carlos Cerrada Cuesta was born in 1984 in Madrid. He studied clarinet and composition at the Conservatory in Badajoz. Afterwards he moved up to Trossingen (Germany), where he coursed Masters on Clarinet and Chamber Music with Chen Halevi. There he also started playing historical instruments, but it was in Esmuc (Barcelona) with Lorenzo Coppola where he finished his studies on this area. He was member of several youth orchestras: NJO (Netherlands), World of Winds (Norway), Theresia Project Youth Orchestra (Italy), Jorcam (Madrid)… He has also studied orchestral conducting with Miguel Romea. Besides his musical education, he has a Bachelor in Philosophy from the UAM.
Frequently he plays with orchestras like Freiburger Barockorchester, La Madrileña, the Juiz de Fora Festival Orchestra (Brasil), La Fontana Barockorchester, Orquesta Académica de Madrid, Les Cris de Paris Orchestra… He has made recordings in Germany, France, Brasil, Spain… both with modern and period instruments.
Nowadays he is member of El Teatre Instrumental, Dúo Noctua (clarinet and piano), Ensemble Mille e Tre (wind music on period instruments), a duo with the fortepiano player Eloy Orzáiz… He combines his chamber music and orchestra projects with an intense pedagogical activity, and also composition. He is teacher in the Centro Universitario Cardenal Cisneros.
